How do we bless God?
An old praise and worship song popped into my head the other day. "Bless God, for all He's done, bless God for Christ His Son..." I can't find it on the internet or I would post it, but it got me to thinking, how do we bless God? Any thoughts on this? I hope to be able to study this and post my findings, but I just wanted to throw that out there for any of you who read this.

You mean this one?
Bless God
For understanding texts inspired by the KJV, a dictionary from around the same time is useful. If you don't have a 1611 dictionary kicking around, looking at older definitions can be helpful. "To honor as holy; glorify" is the 4th of 7 definitions in The American Heritage Dictionary. Careful with so-called 'text study' though - heresy is just a slippery step away.
One of the hardest things when I deconverted was knowing who to thank. I'm still grateful, and find that integrating that in life generates a lot more blessing than the old recipe did. Sometimes I do miss the old praise songs ...
Molly,
What did you deconvert from? Thank you for the warning. I will definitely watch where I get the information from. The post was just meant to get people thinking and see basically if anyone even read my blog. So, hey, I'm glad you did! :) I do believe that the song you cited was the correct song, but I only remember the chorus. Looking fwd to hearing from you....
Hey,
Miss you. I was thinking of you and the kids just yesterday.
Bless God, some of this stuff is just hard to wrap my mind around. Bless God. I don't know, praise, worship, adore, speak blessing over Him, recognize his work and thank him for it.
Good question.
Would love to hear from you.
Sarah
